it breeds a generation of stifled artists (IMO) that mute/suppress their creativity because they rightfully feel “no one’ll see this/feel this/celebrate this- from ME”.. so they end up doing THEIR version of what everyone else is doing.

kinda feels like the only time we tend to lend an eye/ear to someone virtually unknown is via some sort of sensationalized/ polarizing act or visual. aka Joyner Lucas

one thing I highly dislike about current hip hop culture is that we seem to only celebrate “innovative” messages when they come from someone already famous.

like critiquing a movie actor on how well they performed in a car ad. its supposed to be that way genius.

Its always funny to read critiques of the commercial songs I specifically make for Film & TV licensing. (i.e clean/kid safe, uptempo, anthemic, goal driven etc).
