This is one of my favourite Quran reciters. Someone I listen to every day.
I really wish he hadn't got involved in promoting the GCC nations which are intensely disliked by the Ummah. Now I can't get his politics out of my head when I listen to him recite.

World-renowned Kuwaiti Qur’an reciter and nasheed artist Mishary Rashid Alafasy has defended himself against mounting criticism over his recently released nasheed titled “Tabbat Yada Iran” (“Perish the hands of Iran”). In his video statement, he defended his position of cursing Iran and also cursed Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. His nasheed references the 111th surah of the Qur’an, Surah Al-Masad, which states: “Tabbat yada abi Lahabin Watab” (“May the hands of Abu Lahab perish”), in reference to one of the greatest enemies of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). In recent months, Alafasy has become increasingly critical of Iran on his X account, amid Tehran's attacks on Gulf nations for their collaboration with the US and Israel.

Historically though being fair you would compare pashtun dynasties to those in sub continent not Rome. Hotaki all of Persia, Durrani Modern day Afg/Pak etc.
I actually say what the Sikhs did with Ranjit Singh equally or more impressive

Local leaders fighting each other same as literally anywhere else in the world, nothing to be proud of exactly. I mentioned the Romans etc cause they established global empires hence earned the right to bragging. The amount of cringe chest thumping u get from Pashtuns has nothing to back it historically. You dont see that from anyother ethnicity in Pakistan.

Historically we had the Khiljis (Ghilzais), Lodhis, Sher shah suri, Hotaki dynasty, Durrani dynasty. And fought off invaders etc
But I do agree with you they were then we are the now and today we are nothing.

What a black mark against Pakistan that Imran Khan is still in jail.
He is literally Pakistan's national hero and most popular politician but they are probably going to kill him slowly in prison.
We all know that Pakistan's leaders are crooks yet they lock up the one with the most integrity.

Pakistan is trying to mediate an end to the Iran v US/Israel war. Ok fair enough, this is a good thing and to be applauded.
But this does not excuse the crimes of the US-backed Pakistani army against its own people, nor the fact that Shehbaz Sharif is an illegitimate PM and a professional Donald Trump ass kisser.
