#nowplaying #jazz 1971 Germany. This is the 1 that gives illusion suite a run for its money for me as the greatest ecm piano trio album.

It never ceases to astound me how Talk Talk made of the best 80s pop songs and then just a couple years later made Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock

@LewistheLight1 Early Zorn is my least favorite honestly. He had a run from around 2008-2015 where every release was a banger imo.

Maybe I’ll come around on it later? I like a lot of zorn stuff I’ve heard

#NowPlaying #Jazz 1986 us. Ok come take away whatever tiny amount of jazz listening cred I have but not into this. Great lineup, great playing, interesting takes on the morricone songs but they still sound too much like those songs. Idk too kitchsy / soundtracky for me?

@LewistheLight1 There’s a magical quality to this one that puts it above the others for me. Psalm is great but it’s the pairing down to just the trio where the music really opened up. Plus I can’t think of more perfect cover art for the music.

#NowPlaying #Jazz 1985 Germany. Up late so maybe getting ahead of myself a little but I think this is now a top 10 ecm album for me. Pretty perfect stuff from Motian, Frisell, & Lovano and sounds exactly like the cover art looks. 11/10
