@Pullthepocket Here in Japan ADWs were doing up to 5-6% rebates to compete for players. The organizers decided they didn't like this cutting into their margins so they said rebates created gambling addiction and banned rebates. Now they literally do beer, sake and wagyu as rebates.

@Pan_Zareta @AHPDrew Realistically ADWs left their core horseracing behind and think of themselves as casinos whose sole purpose is to take our money for entertainment sake. They believe tossing a free bet now and then makes a happy customer. We have to be smarter because they don't want us to be

@mrgoodhanddj @AHPDrew Your latter point is valid, bigger customers get better treatment. But generally speaking ADWs like any company want happy customers because unhappy ones don't come back. Question is how much CAWs dessicate the retail audience before admins wake up, and will it be too late

This would be the next issue that’s needs addressed. If CAWs can see how vertical wagers are bet and each combo, we should be as well. I’m fine with CAWs betting and putting more money into the game. Let us all have the same information. And it would be easy to do. A P3 tab where you select a horse and it shows you which percentage of horses had that combo in the P3.

@Pan_Zareta @AHPDrew I wish it was better but it is designed to look too easy. ADWs don't care if we win they are only in business to make money and they get paid only when we bet. And now that they are in bed with the CAW teams who do bet much heavier, their whole existence is to to cater to them

@SotoSocial Definitely not deflating, that's horse racing... It sucks to get beat late but that's the actual horseplaying part What is deflating is when you are 19/1 into the gate and 7/1 across the wire and miss winning by $7

Serious question for all the big time horse tourney players like KDBC, BCBC, etc. And this is taking nothing away from the winners or finishers, but…. is it deflating to have a 24-1 shot in a 20 horse race blow up the board and completely flip the tourney top 10.

I sold Ocelli for 12k, yesterday he ran 3rd in the @KentuckyDerby & won 500k. And gues what? I'm celebrating. Because of what this means for everything we still have. Ocelli's brothers just became a lot more valuable. His mom Zalia is now a queen. The bloodline we've been building for years just got validated on the biggest stage in racing. One horse running 3rd at @ChurchillDowns does more for your breeding program than a decade of "he has potential" conversations ever could. But there's a bigger lesson here. Everyone passed on Ocelli because he had a "weird gait." Moved different. Didn't fit the template. Turns out that weird gait was elite. Top 3 in the world elite. The market constantly undervalues things that don't fit the mold. In horses. In real estate. In people. The ones who move different aren't always broken. Sometimes they're just built for something the rest of us can't see yet.
