The civil rights movement took place because people were segregated by skin color and treated causticly due to skin color. MLK was VEHEMENTLY against identity politics and he made that known throughout the course of his life. The civil rights movement was about the fact any skin color can carry merit & impactful character and we should recognize the values we have on the inside and not the appearance of us on the outside.
