I've said this before and I'll keep banging this drum ... charging a touring performer 20% commission on their merch sales when they man the stall themselves with their own card machine is morally indefensible. Plenty of venues don't do this. It's not industry standard. It's grasping and greedy.

@LiamMcIlvanney Oops! Apologies! He taught my mum when she was in 6th year. She said he always took the boys in her year for a pint in the Turf on a Friday lunchtime. Those buildings/huts in the background were still there when I was a pupil in the early 80s. Might still be there…must check.

@creepingbentorg @marcrileydj Some of the @TheTrashcans were there. Held off their own gig at the Venue until the VU had finished, ran round the corner and played their set. The only night in history that the TCS and Velvets played the same night in the same city.

@marcrileydj VU sounded great, closed my eyes and it sounded even better. Couldn’t believe I was actually watching them in Edinburgh - so cool to see all the guitar parts that Sterling played.

I was there. Interviewed Mo the next morning.
