An excellent find by Trevor Girling this morning at Titchwell, luckily relocated a short distance inland, mostly distant in a very hazy ploughed field, then unbelievably it decided to do a really close fly by to the amazement of the few observers there

Panic!! Mayhem and chaos at @WWTWelney this morning as a Sparrowhawk wizzed across the assembled ducks... I think I might have been seen! I'm just glad I'm not prey with that stare...

A great week of birding was topped off yesterday with a local encounter with this Short eared Owl. I don't think the Sparrowhawk was as pleased to see it as we were!!

A walk along a riverbank in the Brecks yesterday gave me the unexpected opportunity to capture a couple of photographs of this hovering Kingfisher, these are images that I've always hoped to one day take.

@mrrmike Thanks Mike, every year I think about doing these things but always get sidetracked, this year actually did it

Velvet Scoters swimming against the tide painted near Leven, Fife. Among them a drake White-winged Scoter from America. A new species for me and one of three I saw in the Firth of Forth. Handsome birds and nice to contrast the two species feeding alongside each other.
