Other updates ⬇️ Will Smith (neck) will be fully shut down for a week before ramping back up to baseball activity. Mid-August looks like earliest possible return, per Roberts. Edwin Díaz will throw tonight & Sunday for ONT. Needs a back-to-back before activation.

Will Smith’s neck continued to bother him as he tried ramping up baseball activities recently, so Dodgers decided to shut him down again this week, Dave Roberts said Not great, obv, but they’re hopeful he can begin ramping up again after this & still expect him back this year

Dave Roberts said the Dodgers are giving Will Smith a week of no activity to hope that it calms down Smith’s neck. FWIW, Smith hasn’t reported any discomfort this week. Still no timeline for him, but August would be the earliest the Dodgers could see him back.

@Bnicklaus7 @ByBlakeWilliams Pretty disappointed of your post. Stick to sports man. You act like previous Presidents have done wonderful things. Its tradition and I hate people like you that just because someone has different views you want to go right to cancel culture! Do better

Saying the Dodgers’ decision to visit the White House is disappointing would indicate some level of surprise, which would be false. There is no “respecting the office” of this president. Visiting Trump is cowardly & the fans should demand better, whether LAD would listen or not.

@Bnicklaus7 My family snd I have refused to attend any Dodgers games since they visited the pedophile rapist.. and Latino asshole in the White House .. and they proved that the don't support the community.. and are culture vultures to make money off them.

It’s unlikely Will Smith is activated off the IL when eligible Friday, Dave Roberts said. Dodgers still working through when that could be. Teoscar Hernández could start a rehab assignment as early as Tuesday, likely with OKC in Reno #Dodgers

Emmet Sheehan allowed just one hit through five strong scoreless innings, then left an 0-2 fastball over the plate that Sam Antonacci crushed. Miguel Vargas followed with a two-strike hit, and then Andrew Benintendi ended Sheehan's day with an RBI double. 2-1 White Sox.

ABC7 Eyewitness News
Donald Trump was booed loudly by fans inside Madison Square Garden when he was shown on video screens during the national anthem as he became the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game. abc7.la/1AfJFs Chants of "U-S-A! U-S-A!" echoed through the arena as Avery Wilson sang "The Star-Spangled Banner," but they gave way to boos moments later as Trump was displayed on the jumbo screens giving a military salute. The jeers ended when the U.S. flag followed him on the screens, and fans cheered when New York Knicks players were shown. Mentions of the San Antonio Spurs also elicited vociferous boos.

Stephen A. Smith doubles down and blames Donald Trump for the New York Knicks’ Game 3 loss: “Our president showed up to New York City last night. And needless to say what I feared would happen, ended up happening. The New York Knicks lost and obviously I’m blaming him, why am I blaming him ladies and gentlemen it’s very simple because the president disrupted our mojo. I’ve said this on many occasions over the last 24 hours and I’m saying it again. The man messed things up.”

Kendrick Perkins says this is where we got to give Mitch Johnson a lot of credit, he protected Wemby last night: “There’s a reason we didn’t see Wemby gassed you know why? Because he didn’t have the assignment of guarding Karl-Anthony Towns that was huge discussion a huge problem in games 1 and game 2. Karl-Anthony Towns was exposing Wemby, Karl-Anthony Towns was driving by Wembanyama every time he got the ball and efficient at the basket. Nobody in the league was doing that. And then all of a sudden as a player you have to put your pride aside because I know it wasn’t easy task for Mitch Johnson to say, “Wemby you know what we got to do what’s best for the team we going to put you on Josh Hart.”
