This decision is outrageous. MAGA is SCARED of YOU. They know they LOSE when Black, Latino, and diverse voters are heard — so they shut them up and rig the maps. We’re not backing down. November is coming.

John Lewis was beaten with clubs wrapped in barbed wire on the Edmund Pettus Bridge fighting for voting rights. Today’s SCOTUS decision takes the sacrifice and fight of all who marched before us and throws it away. We must keep marching — too many have fought too hard to give up.

.@ArndreaKing and I are deeply troubled by today’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais. With this decision, the Supreme Court has further weakened the Voting Rights Act, the crown jewel of the Civil Rights Movement. This is not simply a legal setback, but a moral indictment that reflects a continued retreat from the promise of equal justice. This decision silences the voices of millions of voters of color by undermining the purpose of the VRA – securing and protecting the political rights of Black and Brown communities across the country. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. understood that voting rights are the foundation of our entire democratic system. Without them, we are a democracy in name only. While future courts may address this ruling, the damage is immediate, and this moment demands that we choose whether to accept the erosion of our democracy or stand together to defend it.

I’m not interested in complaining about this Supreme Court VRA ruling. I’m interested in action. Republicans will begin a purge of blue seats, so the purge of red seats must begin. Let’s not waste time, blue states. Just draw new maps and show the Republicans what it looks like to use their rules against them. They’ll be begging on all fours for independent redistricting.

If the Democrats don't make rebalancing and expanding the Supreme Court a top priority for whenever (if?) they next get into power, then I don't know what to say anymore. The GOP-packed court is the biggest block on progress in this country and has been for a while.

Trump’s Supreme Court has gutted the protections that Dr. King marched for. The protections made possible by civil rights protestors who spilled blood in pursuit of a more perfect union. This is a devastating and profound step backwards for American Democracy.

Too many people have fought too hard for the right to vote, especially Black Georgians. Now the Supreme Court has given Donald Trump & his sycophants license to further destroy democracy and green light racial discrimination.  People should pick their representatives, not the other way around. This is despicable. politico.com/news/2026/04/2…

If Michael Thurmond or Jason Esteves wins the primary I could see Ossoff collaborating in a win win situation. If Bottoms or Duncan wins Ossoff will likely need to steer clear of them both and run his own race. Sink or swim. Every man or woman for themselves in that scenario!!
