Today's fanfic headcanon: ACGAS meets Mad Men. Audrey gets her start as Siegfried's secretary and works herself up to Copy Chief at the Farnon Herriot advertising agency. Siegfried is the creative director. Siegfried comes to rely on his competent secretary, but she has dreams. Since leaving her horrid husband and her difficult past behind, she dreams of being independent and self-sufficient. The only thing standing in her way is the irascible, self-sabotaging, yet charming creative director.

Sounds like something Siegfried would say to Audrey to which she would reply with something dry and witty (because that is her defense mechanism, like when he was trying to talk to her about Plato's speech: "Not asking for much, are you?"). Maybe if he says it enough, she'll believe him. Or glare at him. Either is plausible. 🤭
