Our hearts are with the @wedgwoodbaptist community today. Twenty-five years ago, lives were forever changed when a gunman entered the church and opened fire. That night, seven young church members were killed and another seven wounded. The Fort Worth Fire Department has not forgotten that night nor the heartbreak we witnessed and felt. We have dedicated the past two and a half decades to train our firefighters, alongside the @fortworthpd, to respond to active threat situations in an effort to save as many lives as possible. We pray we never witness another 9/15/1999 in our city. We will always remember the victims and keep their families in our prayers. And we will always stand ready to respond to your call for help. Stay safe, #fortworth
