Our final Garden Day of the year was one for the books! We harvested potatoes 🥔 and 🥕(again)! We also used our senses to paint memories from the garden! The 2nd graders harvested a total of 50lbs of potatoes! #teamwork @SampsonElem @2ndgradeSampson @SampsonPTO @readygrowgarden

We got to watch caterpillars 🐛 turn into chrysalises and then hatch into butterflies! 🦋 Today we released our 5 butterflies into our garden! #lifecycles @SampsonElem @2ndgradeSampson

We started biographies and learned about Helen Keller. The kids have been fascinated with how she learned braille and sign language. So we brought in an expert Mr. Brooks who works with our visually impaired students and he showed them a brailler and how it works! We were amazed!
