The first couple weeks of school have been quite busy, but I’m excited nonetheless to be teaching 2 intro Spanish courses at State this semester while finishing up my last semester as a grad student! 🐺📚👩🏻‍🏫

Before 2024 comes to an end, I wanted to share some heartwarming moments. I had the chance to teach fully on my own at NC State this fall semester and I truly enjoyed it! Excited for next semester! 🐺👩🏻‍🏫🍎

Earlier today at NC State, I saw a former student of mine from when I student taught, and we caught up quickly. It was a short interaction, but very heartwarming 🥹. She's now a sophomore, oh how time flies!

It’s a bit late, but wanted to share a couple pictures the SLINKI/SLISE conference that I attended and presented at last month! Such a fun time getting to interact with other linguists within the Southeast region and visiting Charleston! #SLINKI #SLISE #linguistics

I am super excited to have completed the Future Teachers Program with Wake County last week! These last 4 years have been amazing and I am so thankful for this opportunity! I absolutely loved my cohort and getting learn alongside them, go cohort 5!!! 🍎 @WCPSSfuturetchr @WCPSS

The Future Teachers Program celebrated their 16 newest program graduates last Friday to end the annual Future Teachers Conference. 12 will be first year teachers in the fall, and nine have already been recommended for WCPSS teaching jobs. Congrats! 📸: bit.ly/3OuakAj

Student teaching 👩🏻‍🏫✅ It has been an awesome experience being a student teacher at MCHS teaching Spanish IV + II classes. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to spend time with all the students, staff, and my CT! It was hard saying goodbye, muchas gracias ❤️

“Failure is a winner by permission”. Even as a student teacher, I could really feel for Janine in this moment. This scene has made me feel seen and I am sure other teachers can say the same ❤️❤️❤️

@mirandapncsu Thank you! I thought it was interesting that we both incorporated greek mythology in our workshop, but we also had different purposes. I also think that having guest speakers would indeed increase student engagement because they don't often get the chance to hear from guests.

@ms_horwitz I thought your workshop was very fun! I liked how you did 2 separate days and how one was more group work and the other was individual. My PLT used greek mythology in my workshop too! This makes me wonder if teachers should use guests in the classroom more to get students engaged

For our SLP, we worked w/ a 6th grade ESL class + created 4 stations. Each focused on 1 or more different language abilities- reading, writing/spelling, speaking, + listening. We wanted to provide extra practice to enhance students’ skills in a fun + interactive way! #ED204SLP
