@DesheShai@htr As I explained you in DMs, it all depends on the value of W and the load of the network. Maybe you are considering W a too small value. Otherwise, how would you have tx1 and tx2 with weight W-x? W is supposed to be bigger than a single transaction >>>
1/n Was asked to look into @htr. I've gone over their WP several times and I must be missing something fundamental, because it seems that there are two simple attacks and one of them works, depending on a nuance that is unclear from the paper.
They say that a new transaction
@DesheShai@htr I hope this explanation gives you a better understanding of how our consensus work, and why your theoretical attack would not be successful.
@DesheShai@htr From the blockchain perspective, the conflicts are resolved according to which transaction has the highest work (accumulated weight). Suppose a new transaction shows up with a higher work than the current one. In that case, a reorg would occur. The network would never split.
@DesheShai@htr 2/2 The sync algorithm will propagate all transactions and blocks to all full nodes. The consensus algorithm will execute the transactions with highest accumulated weight and void the others.
I'll get back tomorrow (Monday). We can dive further on how our consensus work.
@DesheShai@htr 1/2 Hey @DesheShai ! Thanks for diving deep into Hathor's consensus protocol.
Your double-spending attacks won't work. In both cases, the full nodes will confirm only the transaction with highest accumulated weight (note that it includes the blocks). There won't by any split.

If you run your own full-node, we recommend you to roll it back to v0.39.1 while a new release is under development.
Once again, nothing happened to Hathor Network. This issue affected only 12 new transactions that were misplaced in the DAG, and it has already been solved.
The p2p network worked as expected and the consensus algorithm correctly voided these “invalid transactions”.
This Wallet API is implemented in the hathor-core repository, and this issue exists only in v0.40.0. We will release a fix and a post mortem report soon.
Hey folks! We noticed an issue that prevented Hathor Wallets from generating new valid transactions. The issue was fixed, and all wallets are working fine.
For clarity: Nothing happened to @HathorNetwork. All funds are safe.
Here is a brief explanation of the event.
tivesse entrado nessa thread antes, o rumo dela seria outro 👀
Let’s play a game.

The fact that we're willing to pay the absurd fees to use Uniswap shows that it's providing a service that no other dapp has yet succeeded to do. BIG OPPORTUNITY for other chains right now! Which blockchain do you think is going to step up to the challenge? #ethereum#crypto $uni
@HuobiGlobal $HTR, for sure!
Hathor has a novel and scalable layer-1 blockchain technology. It was designed to be simple and easy-to-use.
A 13-year old boy can create a token in less than a minute with no technical knowledge. Integrating your token to your business is fast and easy.
On this day, two years ago, Hathor Network was born! @msbrogli created our master branch on Github. Since then, things started to escalate very quickly. Hashrate exploded, dozens of use cases are being built and many good news are yet to come!
