Having students actively engage with the rubric helps set them up for success. They can not only see what is expected but understand why the mark is justified. Questions for them to think: are my symbols clear? Is this the best representation? Is this sloppy work?💬💭

#6A Using rubrics and exemplars to justify what grade level these projects deserve. Each group member wrote what they thought it deserved and then group members collaborated and came to an agreement with a final grade.

#6A had an important conversation about our classroom community, speaking with intention and learning from our regrets with the #toothpasteactivity. Our actions and words are easy to come out like a tube of toothpaste but it’s difficult to take them back
