“If it wasn’t for Central High School’s art program, I would’ve never thought about being an artist.”
These are the words of Central High senior Kingston S. In a recent sit-down interview, Kingston talked about his passion for art and how educators have helped him believe in his ability to pursue it as a career. While he’s had the opportunity to showcase his work throughout the halls of his school, he’s also participated in Contemporary Arts Memphis, a program that supports high school students interested in visual arts as a pathway to future educational and professional opportunities.
Kingston’s most recent piece reflects an individual searching for peace in a world filled with chaos, while subtly weaving in elements of faith.
