One of my absolute favourite things to do in the classroom - inquiry! Our initial question: how do forest animals survive during different times in the year? Clay, LEGO, writing, reading, videos… Ss decided on making a museum to share with family & friends! 🤩

@CindyPAndrew1 @NatGeo Oh TOTALLY! It’s so easy to use - the kids use iPads and can look at the pictures and maps when a species is identified. Super cool 🤩

The @NatGeo Seek app is back by popular demand in the forest! Kids were so invested in finding out about all the different species growing ON the trees instead of just around them.

Inquiry isn’t necessarily choice over WHAT students learn. Consider this: agency, empowerment, curiosity within the designed structures and frameworks that shape HOW students learn. Teachers don’t need to let go of WHAT they teach but they do need to empower in HOW they teach.

I finally took down our collaborative salmon life cycle bulletin board, but I had to take a picture first to remember it. It’s BEAUTIFUL - the kids did such a great job 🥰
