3rd graders got a chance to visit our municipal building, police station, and courtroom today. We loved learning from Mayor Cohen and Officer Smith! @CentralSchoolEB
An exciting week in 3rd grade! We went outside to celebrate the first day of spring, visited the book fair, and learned about some cool careers! @CentralSchoolEB
Some highlights from today: table partners solving a subtraction problem using two different strategies, a writer using post it’s to add reasoning and quotes to her literary essay, and a cute collaborative recess project! A great day in third grade ☺️ @CentralSchoolEB
Celebrating opinion writing this week! Amelia gave great reasons why we should all have class pets, and included this great drawing to convince her reader just how cute it would be 🦎 @CentralSchoolEB
Cracking the case! This week we explored how different types of note taking can help us think more deeply about our mystery books. Students drew maps, made suspect lists, and jotted page numbers of important clues to share with their book clubs 🔍 @CentralSchoolEB
A day late, we watched the Times Square ball drop together and celebrated with confetti. Then teams had to “clean up” the confetti by completing the math problem on each piece 🎉 @CentralSchoolEB
Getting ready for our upcoming mystery book clubs! Students worked together to crack the case and practiced using mystery vocabulary words like culprit, suspect, accomplice, and opportunity 🔍 @CentralSchoolEB
Thanks to @msjacob310 for the invitation to participate in her writing celebration lesson today. Spending time with the students and complimenting their work was the highlight of my day! Go 3rd Grade!!!
We talked all about respect with our kindergarten buddies last week! I’m always impressed by how easily third graders rise to the opportunity to be role models. Thanks for having us, @alliepimentel4! @CentralSchoolEB
We have been experimenting with electricity and circuits - this student has been named our class expert after he shared a circuit (complete with a switch and a motor) that he made at home over the summer 💡 @CentralSchoolEB
Had a few kids absent yesterday so we got to join @MsMeyers3 for writing! Love having the flexibility to learn from other teachers and confer with other writers ✏️ @CentralSchoolEB
