I used to count down to get students’ attention, and I switched to “If you can hear my voice, take a deep breath” (credit to @britthawthorne_). Friends, it has been game changing. I do it along with them too, and the difference is epic. 1/2

Things to change: AP classes that treat high school kids like they’re five years older than they are. Kids make mistakes. Teachers should be authentic. Your class isn’t their whole life. You will be forgotten the moment they graduate. Get off your high horse.

Watching the docu-series Explained and there’s an episode called “The Next Pandemic,” predicting what the next pandemic will be like.
This episode was released on Netflix in November of 2019.
