So, I guess I’m finally dying dying. I’ve been “battling” colon cancer for 5 years and I’m now at the end of my road. Treatment is failing and the cancer of it all is starting to rear its ugly head. I’ve been in the hospital for over a week. After this I’ll likely go home to hospice care and start saying my goodbyes. I don’t want to admit that it’s happening. I don’t want it to be true. If I’m honest it’s been true since I got the news in 2021. Been playing fast and loose ever since.

@jimmysoldout I felt this way for a long time but now I'm 29 years in as a homeowner ( on my second, sold my first) and I have almost - half million in equity. I do plan on selling in 10 years and renting and traveling lots in my retirement. It was worth it.

no shade but why would i literally ever buy a home… you still have to pay a mortgage monthly that would be the same cost as just paying rent atp. and at least with renting, the expenses for anything that goes wrong falls into the landlord instead of on you

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. @gotrice2024 My daughter worked and saved for 2 1/2 years after HS graduation while living at home rent free. She bought a car outright. At 21, she started contributing $300 a month.

Their 18 year old daughter just graduated a few weeks ago. Her parents thought they were being fair for not kicking her out at 18 but they are kicking her out after she graduates. They told her if she wanted to stay, effective June 1st, she would have to start paying them $200 a month plus the costs of her own food. If she wanted the rent with meal plan, it’s $300 a month and she can eat from their fridge. They feel they are teaching her responsibility in a controlled environment. I think the amount they are charging is reasonable and fair, it’s still cheaper than being on her own. Do you think this is too expensive too cheap, or do the just hate their kid?
