🧵Its official. 2024 is ALREADY the most deadliest year for Koalas on Appin Road, exceeding 2023, & nearly doubling from 2022. Clear advice by experts was given to @JohnGrahamALP, @campbelltownnsw, & @TransportforNSW that if followed, could have prevented most of these deaths.

That’s not a eucalyptus tree! A koala has been captured on CCTV casually strolling through a train station in Sydney's south-west. The furry traveller was seen climbing up steps at Casula station before wandering dangerously close to the platform's edge - although incoming trains were warned to slow down when passing through the area. He was eventually spotted by a passing train guard who raised the alarm before police officers ushered the curious koala back into the bush.

We know of 10 koalas hit by vehicles in the Sydney Basin in the last 8 days in SouthWest Sydney and the Hawkesbury, both on main roads and back roads. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND DRIVE DEFENSIVELY.

A family in Narellan Vale in Camden LGA were 'astonished' to find a koala in their backyard last week, as were we! Nicknamed Howey, he likely crossed the Hume Highway (!) pushed out by development in Campbelltown. It's urgent that @paulscullymp add Camden to the Koala 2021 SEPP.
