@mstjqualter @CarolineLucas If the UK had suddenly ended all CO2 emissions on January 1, 2025, global CO2 emissions would still have gone UP in 2025. But I can see that it is well worth destroying what is left of the UK economy for the sake of virtue signaling.

As the UN Secretary General says, every new fossil fuel project approved today makes tomorrow’s heatwaves more dangerous & our world less secure. I hope Andy Burnham is listening. Caving in to the fossil fuel lobby as Europe burns would be unforgivable theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@ABridgen But how many degrees will the Earth’s temperature fall if we achieve net zero successfully in the UK?

Thank you Ed Miliband for giving us the most expensive energy costs in the developed world.

This was planned for long ago and not one government has told you the truth. How will you pay for your social care? They hoped it would be this. But they were wrong. Takers will outweigh the contributors 10 fold. Do something … or it’s over.

Britain stands with Ukraine, shoulder to shoulder, always. Russia should be in no doubt of our resolve, and we will not back down until we achieve long lasting and just peace for Ukraine. Great to see you @ZelenskyyUa.

And to deal with predicted increases in flooding they've demolished dams that can control the water flow. And banned dredging that can help it disperse quicker The exact opposite of what they should have done. Are they morons? Or just psychopaths?
Latimer Alder@latimeralder

Q: What have 'authorities' done to prepare for climate change? Built more reservoirs? Improved forest mgmt and fire precautions? Strengthened sea defences? A: None of the above. Instead they've banned light bulbs, hoovers and tumble driers And signalled a lot of 'virtue'

Hard to think of a more damaging start to Burnham’s premiership than giving green light to new oil & gas in N. Sea, if true. It won’t lower bills or lead to greater energy security but will drive an even hotter more dangerous planet #ClimateVandalism bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The UK is a joke all over the world! overwhelmed by debt, forced societal & cultural change, assaults on our freedoms and a coronated PM with no mandate for his Marxist policies. So to make us feel better we’re subjected to this tick tock, patronising, puerile bollocks 🤡
Andy Burnham@andyburnham

When I said I was going to do politics differently, I meant it. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours in Cardiff city centre inviting people to ask me anything about my plans for the UK.

It is important to have good people leading our country, in Keir Starmer that is what we have had. A man of integrity, and guts to do the right thing. He leaves our country in a better place. We must not continue this churn in PMs. Stability leads to delivery.

Today the Met Office says 2025 was the warmest year in the UK since 1884 when records began. Yet Ed Miliband is dismissed as a crazed zealot because he acts to change this. Are we all mad? Check out the report yourself. State of the UK Climate in 2025. rmets.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jo…

YEY … £10 BILLION on useless PPE but shhh …. What this doesn’t say is that at least 1.4 BILLION items of surplus PPE were incinerated! Yes that’s right…. The government burnt them. Shh. Don’t mention the climate 🤡

This is the deep callousness at the heart of the extreme climate change denial. Hundreds of vulnerable people across the country likely died during these heatwaves but he doesn’t care because he thinks he is fine.
Latimer Alder@latimeralder

Two months ago if the temperature in my bedroom was 25C I'd have found it unbearably hot to sleep. But this morning it went down to 25C from about 29-30C yesterday evening and it felt very chilly. Because I have acclimatised to the warmer weather. Humans are good at doing it! But don't tell climos. They don't believe it!

75% of the public want a 2% tax on wealth in excess of £10 million @TheGreenParty is the only party proposing a wealth tax All the other parties oppose taxing wealth. They want to “balance the books” by cutting public spending, which will harm millions of not rich people
YouGov@YouGov

With former financial trader Gary Stevenson advocating for a wealth tax of 2% on wealth above £10 million in a TV show this week, our poll last year found 75% of Britons would be in favour of such a tax Link in replies
