I chose "presence" as my word for 2026. Too often I feel I am rushing between tasks and obligations, or disappearing into my phone. This year I want to BE. To be in the moments and the days and seasons. With myself when I'm alone, and more importantly when I'm with those I love.

I'll always nurse anywhere i please, but I do try to minimize the risk of side-eye when I can.

I did take my friend to her appointment today, though! Currently at the library with the baby while we wait. I was looking for a semi-private space where I wouldn't bother anyone, I saw this sign and you best believe I immediately plopped myself down in the nearest arm chair.

Missed 2 appointments this morning, strong start to the week! Ghosted 2 appointments last week, too! I remain untouchable.

Put my faith in the Lord and donated all my maternity clothes.

Did all the horses survive the Derby? 😤 Horse racing is bad! I wish it was cool, I really do. The horses are beautiful and a day at the track can be a lot of fun! But the horses die and gambling is a societal evil that ruins lives.

He reminded me of my own dad. Maybe just because I've been thinking about him a lot. Generous, always willing to lend a helping hand, especially to a young woman. Generous of spirit, chivalrous but never patronizing. A Good Man, in that way.

The kind retired man helped me load it all, tied it down in the trailer for me and then even backed it out of his driveway for me. Chatted me up the whole time told me about the renovation he and his wife are working on at their house.

Driving with a trailer hitched up to my minivan to go pick up an entire patio set by myself. Probably going to be fine.

I watched my father die of lung cancer when he was 66, six months after he retired, he died before ever meeting his grandchildren, so maybe let's not do this thanks bye

We've got 4 kids and a relatively big house, but it doesn't matter lol. At this very moment 3 of my kids are touching me and the 4th one is sitting 8 inches away from me.

Do I ever say anything about it? No of course not. I just nod and shrug and then stew and then tweet about it or make my husband listen to me gripe. I'm a 9 on the enneagram, look it up.

There are plenty of things I'm unsure about, plenty of things I'd like some input on, but when someone interjects on one of the few things I Do Not Need Input On, whew boy I get mad.

Had a conversation today about tick bites. I mentioned the bug spray we use on the kids, it works really great. Other person "omg omg are you sure that's safe??" Me "yes. Also....the alternative is ticks" other person then told me that surely I could do some research on it

Saw a robot lawn mower this morning, I've never seen one in real life before, it was so unexpected and I got excited, and I forgot to yell "clanker!!!" at it

May 1. We did it. Survived April. Better days on the horizon!

Tonight he was even protesting pajama pants. the look of sheer joy on his face when I pulled a pair of pj shorts out of the closet. "Mama! They ARE shorts!!"

Comes as no surprise that our 3yo refuses to wear pants. Once we put on the first shorts of the season, there was no going back for him. Shorts Guys are born, not made, this is just how he is.

I really loved my wedding dress. I picked it out online, I don't remember exactly how much it cost. I think maybe $600? It was everything I wanted and I felt so beautiful. (Using the trend just to post this picture bc it's one of my favorites)

I used to like an early morning workout back in....2017? Lmao

Pretty much the only time for me to work out is in the morning before work on my in-office days, on the days that I don't have day care drop off, but if I could dig deep on those 1-2 days it could make a difference!!

If the baby keeps sleeping well - even 1-2 brief wake ups I can handle - and my husband is back on days, maybe I can get my shit together and get back to the gym and actually lose some of the baby weight. It's 6 years and 4 kids worth of baby weight 😂 this ain't gonna be easy
