Great to hear that Magnus survived his encounter with orca off the Moray coast and is now making his way up the Norwegian coast. Just hoping now that he survives the humans. Photo taken in April.

@EileenFindlay3 I think this type mainly eats insects with occasional small birds. It was flying around catching insects yesterday.

@mtnsofscotland Beautiful bird. Never seen one. I take it they have a larder too like the grey shrike? Came across a larder decades ago at St Cyrus beach with my old dad. It's the only time I've ever seen anything related to a shrike. Fascinating birds.

Mother and calf bottlenose dolphins swimming around Aberdeen Harbour this morning. Please don't pay to see dolphins off Aberdeen with the skipper recently convicted in court of disturbing cetaceans. You can watch dolphins perfectly well from land (North Pier or Greyhope Bay).

@quineofthenorth Strongly suspect Magnus met the 19s between Hopeman and Lossiemouth. Magnus left Hopeman earlier in the morning shortly before the orca swam past. The orca were then seen 'swimming with a seal' rather than attacking it off Covesea. Not sure of outcome.

@mtnsofscotland I wonder if this is why Magnus the walrus is still hanging around harbours in the coastal towns?

@mtnsofscotland Have you ever seen one breach? I have. In the med. On holiday on a tourist boat. I was scanning and one jumped clean out of the sea about a mile from our boat.

A Bryde's whale seen today off the coast of Madeira in the same area as numerous fin whales. It has a remora attached behind its blowholes.

Birder Twitter, could I have ID confirmation please? I initially thought this was a Manx Shearwater but a frined has suggested Barolo Shearwater? Photographed today out from Funchal. Thanks.
