As a student, the articles of Gillian Ku, Adam Galinsky and Keith Murnighan on competitive arousal were a huge inspiration. It's a great honor to now co-author a book chapter with Gillian on the sources, effects, and implications of competitive arousal. doi.org/10.1093/oxford…

@elonmusk @StephenKing Only on Twitter can we watch a man worth $200 billion negotiate with a man worth $500 million about saving $12 a month.

@AndrewStace Hi Andrew. Thanks for the question. To the best of my knowledge, I have not read or heard about these aspects. I would imagine though that it could fit into the broader literature on technology-induced stress (e.g. the emerging literature on technostress from social media).

That is to say, social media offers an intense awareness of the chaos of reality. In response to that chaos arises a desire for control. This control is then realized through a pacifier of VR. Hard to squeeze into tweets, but I hope you were able to follow my line of thinking.

Gday @mtpadam , have you come across any literature that talks to the psychological impact of data collection? Not so much generally, e.g if you collected data on "self-harm"; then the exposure to that aggregation of self-harmful cases may reflect on the collector/processor. 1/3

My parents surprised me by sending me a 1000 piece puzzle with an image from my home village overseas - It arrived on time for day one of the new lockdown! I’m crying happy tears - I miss them so incredibly much! ❤️ #Obwalden #Kerns
