Today, Hon. Mulyanyama has demonstrated true leadership by officially handing over the Office of the Mayor, along with all government property, including vehicles and equipment, as he prepares to leave Makindye. This is the standard @NUP_Ug stands for: accountability, order, and respect for public resources. Leadership is temporary, but values are permanent. NUP leading by example.

@edgarstuart_M @ntvuganda There is space for all. You don't need to step aside when old. There is no space of a young one being occupied by the old. We have to utilise or create our spaces to occupy, than being envious of the old. Space occupied by the old cannot accommodate all the youth just in case.

Being young gives you a zeal that someone at 40 might not have. However, we live in a country where most of the people in positions of power are over 70. ~ @edgarstuart_M , 90th Guild Speaker, Makerere University #MorningAtNTV #NTVNews

@GodwinTOKO You mean there were 100,000 potholes in NYC? How is that possible in a democracy?

Ugandan-born New York City Mayor, Mamdani oversaw the filling of 100,000 potholes in LESS than 100 days! That's more than 1,000 potholes every 24 hours! I know someone who has been trying something similar since before 34-year-old Mandani was born, & he isn't even close! 🙌🏾

The Constitution of @NRMOnline vests the National Chairperson with powers to invite special guests to CEC, NEC, National Conference & Caucus, and indeed quite a number have been invited for this particular meeting.
Norbert Mao@norbertmao

There has been some discussion about my presence at the NRM Leaders Retreat. I was invited as Minister and Leader of ⁦@DPSecretariat1⁩. As the letter below shows, I’m a guest of the National Chairman of the ⁦@NRMOnline⁩.

Trump: Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE! We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!!

Can someone please explain to me how it was possible to think that culverts can manage the volumes of water here? What was the engineering logic behind culverts as opposed to bridge? I come in peace to learn which is always what I love to do. @assempebwa What was the argument? Passed by this weekend and it is great work.

Qatar’s Prime Minister: We are evaluating the damages. They can be compensated—unlike human lives. But our message is this: targeting such a facility—one that represents a major source of income and a backbone of the Qatari economy—is unacceptable. It also supports many people around the world who are already under stress. We hope that the Republic of Iran understands that it is depriving these vulnerable people of the support we currently provide.

Yesterday I almost learned a very expensive lesson about property transactions in Kampala. While buying property in Kawempe, the LC1 chairperson who had helped confirm ownership & draft the agreement insisted that he was entitled to a minimum 5% of the value of the property (80M), which gives him about 4 million shillings. Since there were sufficient documentation about ownership such as copies of previous sales agreement (from the deceased), letter of administration (high Court family division), title from BLB, copy of the will, consent letter from family of the deceased through their lawyer and immediate neighbors willing to witness, we felt the 5% charge by the LC1 was really unfair. On top of LC1 there were land brokers and other people to settle. Both the seller and I felt this was excessive, tried to negotiate and offered to facilitate his office with a modest amount, of about 1M, but he declined and walked away. We later completed the transaction through a lawyer (legal firm), and that’s when we learned something important: Under Ugandan law, an LC1 chairperson is not entitled to any percentage of the value of property being sold(0%). Their role is mainly administrative, witnessing, writing introduction letters, or confirming residence and any fee is normally small and fixed, not a commission. This experience reminded me of a few things: 1. Always verify the law before agreeing to payments that “everyone says are normal.” 2• When dealing with land or property, involve a qualified lawyer and ensure proper documentation is availed & verified 3• Sometimes the difference between losing money and protecting it is simply asking questions. I'm quite sure that majority of you didn't know what the law speaks about LC1 and their role/entitlement during sale of property. Anyways Let’s keep sharing information and educating one another. Knowledge is not just power, it is also protection. Shared one Social Media user. What are your views on this,,,,????

I HAVE A THEORY: Mojtaba Khamenei, Ali's son and the new supreme leader IS ALREADY DEAD and died in the same strike that killed his father! How do you choose a supreme leader who cannot be killed? You pick one who is ALREADY DEAD! Here's the shocking part: No one has seen Mojtaba Khamenei publicly since the war began. Obviously, this is just speculation on my part, but it is very strange that no one has seen this guy and these supreme leaders tend to be very visible.

@MoWT_Uganda @SimonKaggwaNjal @assempebwa @GenWamala Traffic passing even provides secondary compaction and is a test that work done can perform its purpose. Limiting traffic results in poor performing product after. I believe that's why failures manifest very early after completion.

Ministry of Works & Transport
Good morning Simon. Apologies for the inconvenience this morning. Works are ongoing on the section, including night operations. The delays experienced are as a result of the reduced width of the road necessary to undertake works. However, the section under rehabilitation must remain closed to traffic [day and night] because the works may not be carried out alongside moving vehicles without compromising the process and the quality of the road. The materials currently being laid also require curing time and laboratory testing before the next stages [priming and asphalt overlay] can proceed. Traffic is therefore constrained to half width for now. The inconvenience is regretted, but this is necessary to ensure safety and quality works.

Works Ministry: Allen Kagina Never Applied for Job After UNRA Rationalisation The Ministry of Works and Transport, has revealed that Allen Kagina, the former Executive Director of the defunct, Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) never expressed interest in taking up a job at the Ministry, like the 1,254 former employees of the Authority. The revelation was made by Bageya Waiswa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, while appearing before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, during the scrutiny of the 2024/25 Auditor General’s report, where Gorreth Namugga (Mawogola South) sought an update on the rationalisation process and why Kagina wasn’t hired by the Ministry.
