@Ony1nyechi why are Catholics repeating this rhetoric of "he is not speaking out against the killing of Protestants and Christians by Muslim Radicals"?? I am pretty sure he and Pope Francis have been very vocal on this?? is it because it doesn't get all splashy in the headlines??

I haven’t been online, so I am just getting updated with what’s happening between the Pope and Trump. But even as a catholic, a dedicated Catholic as well, I don’t support how the Pope is moving in any way. Christians all over the world are being killed and massacred by Muslims, he’s the Pope, his first priority should ALWAYS be protecting his flocks. He has never firmly condemned the killings of Christians in Nigeria, Sudan and even in Iran, his comments are always lackluster and “peaceful”, which no fucking body needs right now. I don’t see imams speaking out for Christians anywhere, why is the Pope getting involved with politics and defending the people killing Christians? Jesus taught us about love and peace but this is not it at all, and I refuse to look the other way to avoid criticizing him like other Catholics, I can love you and still call out your bullshits.

@UcPaul3 @Ony1nyechi Go back to your catechism. Papal infallibility applies only on matters of faith and doctrine. And it is tied to his office (ex-cathedra)

@Ony1nyechi How has the pope defended the people killing Christians. It's becoming obvious that the hate you have for Islam is much more than the love you all have for Christ, because if not, explain to me exactly how calling for peace means translate to defending Killers.

@Celebrityval @Callmechiboy_ @AfamDeluxo They should read about what happened in 2006 after Pope Benedict XVI quoted a Byzantine emperor on Islam and violence, and how it ended in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia. They are in a Christian-dominated part of the world, na why e easy for their mouth.

If there’s one thing I expect from the Pope, it’s unwavering, decisive advocacy for the protection of Catholic priests in Nigeria. Having once lived and worked there, he understands the reality on the ground. He should be at the forefront, using his voice and influence to confront and stop these relentless killings, because issuing statements after every tragedy is simply not enough!!!

@larrizy @AfamDeluxo The Pope is an Augustinian priest, and he visited the home of the saint associated with his religious order. Do you even know that Algeria used to be a traditionally Catholic country?

I am a Catholic but the Pope has taken sides in this issue. Anyone who doesn't see it, is blind. A Pope's first visit to Africa since he became a Pope and the first place that flooded social media is a Mosque. A Mosque! The first tweet he made during his visit is communion with Muslims. Let's not pretend abeg.

Trump isn't a spiritual leader. In fact, he did say he wasn't sure if he merits heaven. And that is fine. He is a politician. We expect no piety from him. But we do from the one who professes to be the 'vicar' of Christ on earth. If you are the representative of Christ on earth, are you saying Christ would remove his shoes, walk barefooted in a mosque and bow in reverence to an Allah who says the same Christ is not God? What is going on with us all? Have we lost our minds? The Pope has done something gravely irresponsible and the ones calling that out are the problem? Well, it's not an issue. We are past the era of political correctness. Christians are literally dying. So, we are more clear and direct ourselves. Pope Leo has done a gravely irresponsible thing. Trump called him out on that, and he was right.
Ade@Thablvckboi

Spiricoco Twitter which loosely translates to "Spirit-filled Twitter" isn't truly spirit-filled, cos if it were, it would know which of the two men is antithetical to Christ's teachings John 16:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth…”

@TheCharlesIsidi And even if persecution exists, Christ never told us to respond with fear or hatred. In Gospel of Matthew 5:44, He said to love your enemies, not label entire groups as enemies. Calling people “the devil” while claiming to defend Christ’s teaching doesn’t reflect the Gospel.

@_ndianabasi @TheCharlesIsidi There were persecutions under the Roman Empire, conflicts between Christians themselves, and events like the Crusades and the Thirty Years’ War. Reducing everything to “Islam vs Christians” is not accurate.

@_ndianabasi @TheCharlesIsidi and First Letter to the Corinthians 5:9–10 where we’re told not to avoid unbelievers. Being “wise as serpents” doesn’t mean being suspicious or hostile. It means be discerning, but still gentle. Don’t twist Scripture to justify fear.

@_ndianabasi @TheCharlesIsidi That’s a misread of Gospel of Matthew 10:16. Christ was warning about persecution, not telling us to isolate or fear whole groups of people. If you say “have no fellowship with them,” then you’re contradicting Gospel of Matthew 5:44 where He says to love your enemies....

A symbol is a mark, sign, object, or character that represents an abstract idea, concept, or specific entity, often by convention or association. The bread and wine are symbols but does the same work as the blood and body of Jesus. Good bye
Ezinne | Ada dị òra nma@justmyrra_

That’s the issue! Jesus didn’t say, “This bread is a symbol of my body,” He said: “This is my body, this is my blood.” The Eucharist is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus under the appearance of bread and wine. To Catholics, it is not a symbol 📌
