It's a genuine shame cheetahs are so badly endangered and bottlenecked, cuz of all the wild cats out there they're basically begging to be domesticated and generally are very gentle and friendly with humans.

@muhammadbutt Vegans don’t “conflate” meat-eating with factory farming, they see factory farming as the most visible consequence of the broader ideology that animals are ours to use.

the vegan problem is they conflate eating meat (morally neutral) with Factory Farming (morally repugnant) and so can come off as loony zealots.
however, the two ARE linked!
the problem, as always, is capitalism.

i would never argue with a vegan because they’re making the morally correct decision and i’m not. i don’t have any truly sound way to counter their perspective from a moral standpoint. so i just practice cognitive dissonance and eat my beef and pork and keep my mouth shut.

@themurhaf look, I like them all and no doubt Rice and Jude with their greater experience have more solid “resumes” but Kobbie is a proper footballing midfielder. if he was playing next to Rice instead of a 97 year-old Casemiro it’d be even more apparent.

none of Jude, Rice or Anderson is better than Kobbie Mainoo. he is by far the best English midfielder around. by Jove, an actual footballer!
should be second name on the team-sheet after Kane. but as Steven says, he won’t play to begin with (and maybe not at all).

Elliot Anderson is not better than Kobbie Mainoo and certainly does not balance better alongside Rice and Jude for England Sadly, we’ll have to wait for England to stink it up first because Amorim wasted a year of his career and he lost his place

it’s Vini. Jude a close second tho even with his bonfides for England it’s clear Tuchel prefers to start others so Jude has a point to prove.
but Vini is historically bad with Brazil. just miles off his actual level as a player. he desperately needs to show up and show out.

A 1948 account of the Jewish ethnic cleansing of Palestine by Ronald Monson, Daily Telegraph (Sydney) correspondent in Jerusalem.
The tone of Monson's reporting was remarkably different to much of the Western media reporting from Palestine and Lebanon today.
Monson did not try to downplay Zionist crimes and he humanised the Palestinian victims.
Reporting when journalists were carrying through with their mission, to out the truth and did not succumb to pressure from lobbies with $$$ and threats.

Jewish mortar bombs were coming over the Damascus Gate, bursting with shuddering explosions in narrow alleys when I visited the Jacob E. Spofford Memorial Hospital - American institution — close by the Gate today (Wednesday).
I had come to visit the Arab orphans from Deir Yassin. I carried no sweets, because their nurse, Miriam Bedrossian, doesn't think sweets are good for year-old babies.
Miriam had cared for these 15 babies since they were brought to the refuge a few days after the massacre of their parents last March. There were 16, but one died of wounds - aged nine months….
