Beyond being a platform for dialogue, @thePDFestival provides space for citizens and public institutions to connect and access services that strengthen our democracy. At #PDF2026, the @IEBCKenya was on site registering new voters, giving many young people the opportunity to take their first step into civic participation. But registration is only the beginning democracy is strongest when citizens not only sign up to vote, but also show up and exercise that right when the time comes. 🗳️ #FormNiDialogue

With 536 days to the next General Election, key concerns remain on the country's preparedness to guarantee a free, fair, transparent and credible electoral process. It is against this backdrop that the #UchaguziConsortium is today engaging Members of the @NAssemblyKE CIOC and JLAC committees to unpack the concerns and define interventions ahead of the ballot. #UchaguziPlatform #EyeOnElectionsKE

@MigunaMiguna In the court of public wisdom, what truly separates Oketch Salah from @MigunaMiguna in their posture towards the Late Raila — style, temperament, tone, attitude, or ambition?

Let me make it crystal clear because I don’t think this entitled family received the Memo: Kenyans are sick and tired of you, of your greed, opportunism, hypocrisy and connivance. We don’t care about your delusions of grandeur. We don’t care about your duplicitous lives. We don’t care about your evil designs. Kenyans saw the late Raila Amolo Odinga, introducing Oketch Salah in Migori, Gem Ramula and Kisumu as his “dear friend” and a “great investor who would mine gold” in Luoland. We saw Oketch Sallah in helicopters, vehicles and public rallies with Raila Amolo Odinga. We saw Oketch Sallah dancing with Ida, Ida’s children and Ida’s grandchildren. Kenyans saw Oketch Sallah distributing money to your family members and members of the public in Raila Amolo Odinga’s and Ida’s presence. How come Oketch Sallah was with the ailing Raila in Dubai, India and South Africa while Ida was gallivanting all over Kenya with strange men? And recently, we have seen Oketch Sallah in the company of Oburu Oginga and Jaoko Oburu at public rallies, weddings and ODM meetings. Kenyans know your dubious habit of taking money from people before denouncing them. You did it to the Armenian drug dealers, Artur Margaryan and Artur Sargasian. You did it to the horrible Kemlesh Pattni. You have done it throughout your lives. We know what you are fighting for is the continued flow of public money to you through Political Parties Fund, bribes from aspirants seeking ODM certificates and crumbs from @StateHouseKenya. Keep your rotten ways from our lives. We don’t care about your family’s duplicitous lives and Oketch Sallah!

Frankline Mukwanja – Exec. Dir., CMD: The most attractive candidate in the political field is President Ruto. He is leading one of the strong political formations (UDA and ODM). Raila Odinga left him in a vantage position, and ODM is cannibalizing; therefore, he doesn’t need to do much to weaken them #CitizenDayBreak

Frankline Mukwanja – Exec. Dir., CMD: Violence during campaigns and the election day is a concern. There seems to be laxity in the secrecy at the ballot and in assisted voting. IEBC needs to adequately review and enhance these structures #CitizenDayBreak

🇰🇪 CMD Kenya continues to strengthen and institutionalize democracy in Kenya by convening political parties, parliamentary leaders, and key governance actors. Through structured, solution-oriented dialogue, CMD Kenya supports political actors to prioritize collaboration, accountability, and citizen-centered governance. By creating spaces where leaders engage on substantive issues rather than personality-driven politics, CMD Kenya helps transform political competition into inclusive, actionable, and sustainable governance outcomes that respond to the aspirations of all Kenyans. 🗳️🤝 As part of our interventions, we are implementing the Kenya Institutional Strengthening Program (KISP), through which we seek to create inclusive spaces for citizens, political actors, religious leaders, and civil society to engage in structured, issue-based dialogue. These platforms not only amplify citizen priorities 🗣️✨ but also build trust in the democratic process by demonstrating that dialogue can lead to concrete action. Most importantly, this approach fosters local ownership, credibility, and legitimacy—key ingredients for sustainable political reform and active citizen participation in governance. 📊🏛️ Aligned with KISP’s objectives, the COIN-10 workshop brings together leaders and technocrats to consolidate priority issues under the 10-Point Agenda, develop monitoring and accountability frameworks, and integrate public participation into national reforms. The program is supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) through the Enhancing Local Governance and Inclusive Accountability (ELGIA) Program, ensuring that political commitments are actionable, evidence-based, and responsive to citizens’ needs. This engagement is a critical step toward advancing issue-driven politics and strengthening democratic consolidation in Kenya. 📌✅

The Centre for Multiparty Democracy Kenya
The Centre for Multiparty Democracy – Kenya (CMD-Kenya) joins the nation and the wider democratic community in mourning the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya and party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (@TheODMparty ), one of our long-standing member parties. Rt. Hon. Odinga was a towering figure in Kenya’s political landscape whose life was deeply intertwined with the country’s journey toward multiparty democracy, constitutional reform, and inclusive governance. His decades of service — both in government and in opposition — shaped national dialogue and left an indelible mark on Kenya’s democratic trajectory. His role in expanding civic space and advancing democratic ideals will be remembered across generations. CMD-Kenya conveys its heartfelt condolences to his family, the ODM fraternity, and all Kenyans during this time of national reflection and loss. We honour his immense contribution to democratic progress and stand in solidarity with all who celebrate his life and legacy.

Politics is rarely about altruism. It’s about interests. @RailaOdinga rushing to defend Gov. Sakaja isn’t really about Nairobi’s leadership failures—it’s about protecting political stakes. Selfish calculations often trump public good, and Nairobians are left to carry the cost.

Why has @RailaOdinga abrogated himself the role of oversight in the NBO County Assembly? Isn’t it the constitutional duty of MCAs to hold @SakajaJohnson accountable? Why does it look like shielding the Governor instead of letting institutions work? @edwinsifuna @TheODMparty
