Yesterday, together with District Chairperson Sarah Sambya, agricultural officers, school leaders, and pupils, we flagged off the BCD–CAU School Garden Program at Buteme Light SDA Primary School in Busana Model Village.
The launch of the school garden planting season will strengthen school feeding and hands-on learning for our pupils.
The feeding project will begin in three selected model villages and their model schools, with Buteme Light SDA Primary School located in Busana I Village, Kamuli District being one of them. This initiative is a result of the collaboration between China Agricultural University and the @BusogaConsorti1

@BusogaConsorti1 continues to deepen its commitment to socio-economic transformation in the Busoga sub-region through community-driven agricultural initiatives aimed at improving household incomes, strengthening food security, and promoting sustainable rural development.
According to the Director General @mulanthony, the goal of the different projects is to build sustainable livelihoods that start at the household level.
When communities are empowered with the right knowledge, support, and opportunity, they are able to transform their own lives. Our focus is to ensure that development begins from the grassroots and spreads across the entire Busoga region,” he noted.

The Director General of the Busoga Consortium, Dr. @mulanthony, paid a courtesy visit to Luyanzi Institute of Technology, where he held fruitful discussions with Mrs. Sooma, Director of the institute, on strengthening collaboration in skills development and youth empowerment He commended the institute for empowering youth through training in Chinese language, catering, tailoring, and computer skills, creating opportunities for young women and men from Busoga. We agreed that government will support his family foundation’s Kamagwa Hospital, while it remains a private facility, and that the Ministry of Tourism will support the establishment of a museum to preserve his legacy. At his request, I accepted to serve as Patron of the project. I wish him good health and God’s blessings as he marks 99 years.
