@RookieKE @Ramah_Nyang My peers who joined audit firms after college in 1988 earned 6k a month. Today those still there are partners earning 1m+. If one saved 10% a year in first year, (Sh7200) earning 12.5% p.a. it would be worth 312k 32 years later, 2.6% of annual income.

This is not true though. Time value of money means small investments made early in life pay off more, than large investments made a few years before you retire.

Something they never tell young people is that the money you make in your 20s, doesn't necessarily go far into your retirement. In your 20s, use your money to make memories. Travel, see the world, make friends, laugh and have fun wisely. No pressure.
