Today, we brought together hotel owners from the Bunyoro and Lango sub-regions to assess the progress they have made in upgrading their facilities as Uganda prepares to host #AFCON2027. The Government is providing low-interest loans to hoteliers in the two sub-regions to help them upgrade their facilities to standards suitable for hosting #AFCON guests and activities associated with the continental tournament. Earlier, we received the Egyptian Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador @melhamzawi and his delegation. 🛣 HOIMA-KIBOGA ROAD PROJECT UPDATE 145km. 35% done. And counting. Today the Hon. Siraj Musa Ali Minister of State for Works and Transport of @MoWT_Uganda toured the Hoima–Kiboga Road, where the contractor, Abubakar Technical Services together with the Ministry supervision team are pushing through despite bitumen supply delays. The numbers so far: 🛣️ 42km already paved 🛣️ 15km ready for surfacing — just waiting on bitumen 📅 Contract extended to Feb 2027, after we widened key sections to handle rising traffic The Minister's message to the contractor was simple: " keep the pace, keep the quality" This road will change connectivity — and livelihoods — across the region. And its one of the key projects for #AFCON #MoWTUpdates #RoadsForDevelopment
