Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program
The Mwabovo Micro-Irrigation Project in Dzombo Ward, @OurKwaleCounty combines a borehole with a modern micro-irrigation system to enhance water access and boost agricultural productivity. Groundbreaking took place in March 2025 under the #FLLoCA program, which is installing a solar-powered submersible pump, a concrete water tank, pipeline works, drip irrigation systems, and full security fencing for the site. The project’s primary beneficiaries are members of the Dzipange Kayamba Self Help Group, who will use the system to cultivate high-value crops such as tomatoes, kales, and a variety of African leafy vegetables. @WorldBankKenya @murathakinuthia

Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program
What an inspiring milestone! The launch of the solarized Kaiwow Borehole in @WPCGovernment is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in tackling climate change and uplifting communities. By providing accessible clean water, this project eases the daily burden on women and girls, empowering them with more time and opportunities to thrive. The FLLoCA program's Ksh 133M investment in transformative initiatives across West Pokot—spanning water pans, renewable energy, and agricultural advancements—has created tangible impacts for over 32,000 households. Improved literacy rates, increased school enrolment, and enhanced community resilience are a testament to the program’s success. Together, we are paving the way for a sustainable and prosperous future! #ClimateAction #FLLoCA #LocallyLedClimateAction

Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program
The Chorong'i Coffee Factory, part of Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society in Ruring'u Ward, Nyeri Central Sub County, receives a solar dryer installation, a significant step forward for local farmers. Led by the Department of Climate Change, @County19Nyeri under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Program, this initiative aims to boost the factory’s coffee processing capacity and improve the quality of coffee—a key economic driver for the county. The project promotes sustainable practices by harnessing solar energy while helping farmers reduce the cost of processing and increase their income. The solar dryer will enhance the drying process, ensuring better coffee preservation and higher market value for their produce. This installation at Chorong'i Coffee Factory is just one of many grassroots climate action efforts under the FLLoCA program, showing the county’s commitment to combating climate change. Support sustainable agriculture and local climate initiatives—join us in empowering our farmers and building a greener future for local communities. #ClimateAction #LocallyLedClimateAction #FLLoCA
