🇷🇸🇲🇪The Municipal Assembly of Zeta, one of the most densely populated municipalities in Montenegro, has adopted a declaration which rejects the recognition of Kosovo’s self-proclaimed independence at the municipal level. The initiative has been signed by 18 councilors, who state that previous governments ignored what was described as the prevailing opinion of Montenegro’s citizens regarding Kosovo and Metohija. According to the adopted declaration, the decision is presented as an expression of support for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, and in the hope that other municipalities with a Serbian-majority population may adopt similar initiatives.

16 years ago today, the UN's International Court of Justice found that 🇽🇰 Kosovo's declaration of independence did not violate international law or UNSC Resolution 1244. Serbia itself had brought the case regarding the 🇽🇰 declaration of independence to the ICJ.

🇲🇰 North Macedonia has declared 30-day state of emergency in Gostivar after contaminated drinking water sickens more than 3,000 people. Tests found fecal contamination in the town's water supply. Police have detained the head of Gostivar's public water utility and two other managers. They falsely assured residents the water was safe, claiming the illnesses were caused by food rather than the contaminated water.
