Dear Connections, I’m thrilled to share that I have successfully graduated in Robotics Engineering from Galgotias University. Grateful for the journey and excited for what lies ahead!

Returning to one’s alma mater is always special, but returning to shape the minds that will build the nation’s future space capability is truly humbling. Today, I started a semester course at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru on “Systems Engineering of Launch Vehicles” at the Aerospace Engineering Department. Systems engineering is where vision meets discipline-where propulsion, structures, avionics, control, reliability, and operations come together to create a flying system that must work every single time. These are lessons best learned not only from textbooks, but from lived experience. It is a real pleasure to share the tacit knowledge gathered over decades at ISRO, shaped by successes, setbacks and design trade-offs with young minds eager to build the future. If even a few among them go on to become outstanding rocket scientists, system leaders, or space technology entrepreneurs serving Bharat’s expanding space ecosystem, this engagement would have served its true purpose. Proud to contribute, once again, from where my own journey began. #IISc #SomanathSpeak
