If you really are committed, how about supporting Medicare 4 All? I had cancer for a 2nd time this year, now at age 30, first at 7. My surgery costs currently total $124,584, not including diagnostics. I’m lucky because I had hit my deductible. No one should go bankrupt for care.

The fight against cancer is personal for my family, like it is for millions. But I’m confident that with the strength of dedicated scientists and researchers, tireless health care workers, and brave families like yours, we’ll win this fight once and for all. #WorldCancerDay

"Museums espouse lots of high-minded ideas about the elevating power of culture, but as workplaces, they leave a lot — a lot — to be desired," writes @cmonstah

This is our time to act. Or at least it will be following our months-long iterative visioning and planning process.

LONGEVITY PAY UPDATE: On July 1, 2023, @Philamuseum Management reneged on longevity pay provisions of our union contract. We filed a grievance to settle the dispute. Have they worked with us to find a fair resolution? No, they’ve repeatedly rejected our grievance. 1/8

For the last few years, I’ve been interviewing folks involved in the Avant-garde scene in the East Village in the late 20th century - the place where the modern business of drag (as filtered through RuPaul) was created
Curbed@Curbed

.@Hugh_Ryan writes about how modern drag, as a business and art form, got its start in East Village venues beginning in the early 80s, and how RuPaul and a Southern entourage of drag queens later revived the scene with persona-driven shows trib.al/vygysip

And we’re (sort of) live once again! Episode 3: Money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy you a functional museum. Please blame any and all poor sound on our editor. He is a rabbit. on.soundcloud.com/MHa9N

So proud of @PMA_Union workers, who presented @philamuseum Director, Sasha Suda, with 2,300+ signatures in support of workers at the museum, who have been denied their promised longevity pay. Do better @philamuseum!
