Winning an election is subversion of the state. Ok then. A reminder that we signed a treaty promising to protect #HongKong from stuff like this. Where are those promises now?

BREAKING: Dozens of winners of 2020 #HongKong pro-democracy primaries, such as Lester Shum, Ventus Lau, Fergus Leung and Gwyneth Ho, have been arrested under the National Security Law. Worse still, there is #NO presumption of innocence under the #NSL.

#BREAKING: Pro-democracy activists Lester Shum and Tiffany Yuen and politicians Alvin Yeung, Dennis Kwok, Tat Cheng and Kwok Ka-ki are barred from contesting in the upcoming legislative election, local media report, and as many as 12 people are disqualified. #HongKongProtests

First they ban dining in, then they arrest some teenagers on suspicion of breaking the national security law, then they retracted the dine-in ban, and now this. For every 12 hours, something absolutely ridiculous happens in #hongkong.

It is not democracy, if the government decides, which opposition candidates are allowed. At least 12 Hong Kong opposition candidates barred from Legislative Council bids. scmp.com/news/hong-kong…

So the disqualifications start even as #HongKong government considers postponing Legislative Council elections. Total disenfranchisement. Totally outrageous. @DominicRaab it is time to add #CarrieLam and #HK and #China officials to the #Magnitsky sanctions list.
