Don’t get distracted.
Gov Newsom has vetoed 3 important labor bills, including labor’s collective highest priority bill - #SB799.
We must continue to organize & fight & demand respect for all workers, especially those who are striking to fix an economy that has failed us.

Governor @GavinNewsom's veto of #SB799 is a dismissal of the working people that have supported him. For 148 days, members of the WGA struck against companies who intended to drive writers into financial ruin. 1/2

I’ll say it…..if I was going to be on national television announcing an NFL game in London - I don’t think I would choose those pants. 🤣🫢 #NFL #NFLLondonGames

This looks like what would have happened if Comedy Central fed Celebrity Death Match writers acid.

@RysaWalker @antimatterdata Regardless of what it literally is, the subtext is definitely Messianic for Sisko. And showrunner Ira Steven Behr has stated in the past that he intended “for Sisko to become a God” by the last episode. So he certainly believed in the Prophets.

@Tat2dDadSF @TeltheTrekkie Well, no one ever accused Gene of being consistent or thorough with his “vision”.
Though I could argue that’s less canonical substance and more set decoration for the sake of visual shorthand.

@TeltheTrekkie HOWEVER, Gene eventually died and the first series after he died had a protagonist who turned out to be a literal Space Messiah.
Hence bickering about New Trek adhering to Gene's vision or not, being a bit of a moot point.
English

@TeltheTrekkie I mean, he's kinda right. Gene was an atheist and was very opposed to organized religion and deities - hence why a lot of his Trek stories involved Kirk/Picard battling with villains with God-like powers. "Who Mourns for Adonis?" is where this subtext is most blatant.
