"There will also ultimately be >100k V3/V4/V5 satellites for Starlink broadband and direct to cellphone connectivity." "If growth continues, Starlink will one day carry the majority of Internet traffic. At that point, it is the Internet and everything else just connects to Starlink."

NEWS: Tesla has ended one-time FSD purchases in Europe, switching to a €99 per month subscription model. The previous upfront option cost €7,500 or £6,800 for lifetime access. That is gone. Tesla also eliminated the mid-tier Enhanced Autopilot package, which previously cost €3,800 as a one-time purchase. Basic Autopilot remains free on all vehicles. At €99 per month, it takes just over 6 years of continuous payments to reach the old upfront price. For drivers who change cars every few years, the subscription could cost less overall. Tesla also made the same switch in the US, replacing the $8,000 upfront option with a $99 monthly fee.

NEWS: Former Top Gear presenter James May has reviewed Tesla's Diner in Los Angeles alongside content creator Lucy Brown. The pair drove to the diner using FSD through LA traffic. May engaged the system but took over at one intersection. They ordered food from inside the car through Tesla's geofenced diner app, received delivery in Cybertruck-shaped boxes. May described the future-retro multi-story building, which houses early Optimus robot memorabilia among other Tesla artifacts. For context, Top Gear and Tesla have a famously rocky history dating back to a 2011 episode that ended in a lawsuit. May also published a video two months ago titled "12 things James May HATES about his Tesla Model 3." Watch it for yourself and decide.

A Tesla Model 3 owner in the Philippines shared a detailed one-month ownership review on Reddit's r/CarsPH, offering a ground-level look at what Tesla ownership means for a practical daily driver in Southeast Asia. The owner commutes approximately 110 kilometers on Monday through Wednesday, mostly on expressways. He previously drove a 2014 Honda Accord V6 3.5L and was spending roughly ₱3,300 per week on fuel for that three-day driving pattern alone. After purchasing the Model 3 at ₱1.8 million from the BGC showroom, his additional electricity cost came to approximately ₱2,000 per month, aided by an existing home solar installation and a Level 2 home charger. He charges twice a week. Before choosing the Model 3, he test drove the Geely EX5 and GAC AION V. He described the EX5's suspension as disorienting and its interface as imitative of Tesla. He found the AION V more comfortable but ultimately chose the Model 3 for its technology advantage and pricing parity with the EX5. At 6'3" and 225 lbs, he found the Model 3's interior space comparable to the Accord, with enough rear legroom for an adult passenger behind his driving position. His summary after one month: satisfied with cost savings, impressed with technology and preconditioning features, comfortable with the space. His only criticism is that he misses the sound and feel of the V6 engine. Source: Reddit r/CarsPH, May 2026. (by Best_Piece7738)

REPORT: A recent article by AutoEvolution claims Tesla was "blindsided" and "caught off guard" by Lithuania's FSD approval. That is false. Here is the real story: Tesla spent over 18 months in formal testing and regulatory preparation before FSD was approved anywhere in Europe, per RDW and Tesla Europe documentation. ~1.6 million kilometers of test data across 17 EU countries ~4,500 closed-track tests ~13,000 customer ride-alongs ~400+ individual regulatory compliance requirements met Lithuania's Safety Administration approved FSD on May 18 and notified Tesla on May 20. Tesla deployed the software update the same day it was notified. Tesla was not waiting to be approved. Tesla was knocking on the door for years. Lithuania opened it. Tesla walked in the same day. A 48-hour notification lag from a regulator is not a failure of preparation. Tesla field testing team that tests FSD in every remote, icy and difficult road condition across a country before they launch. That is not being blindsided. That is called being prepared.
