This offseason alone he cut Decker and Paschal. He also Traded Monty
He let several of “His Guys” walk in FA like Anzalone, Raymond, Reader, Amik, Glasgow, the list goes on

@DetroitOnLion I think this is the problem. BH falls in love with his players and loses sight of the Moneyball aspect of sports. You have to find value. Instead we’re left with a two tiered team. A handful of studs surrounded by journeymen on one year contracts.

@AnthonyWriter5 I think BH has ego. He wants to be recognized as the foremost draft guru. He accomplishes that by setting his picks up to succeed in every way possible and then by making sure they are the “highest paid at their position of all time”.

@swarheit I think our defense was exposed due to our inability to control the Ball on offense quite like we did the years before. And that came down to oline. I think being comfortable with more quality depth on line sets us up perfect for the draft.

Two things I think can be true at once regarding the Lions and FA:
1) We have signed a lot of high quality depth at bargain bin prices. Our depth, especially at OL and CB, is better than last year
2) Our defense was bad, and our starting lineup is now worse. We need real help.

@TBrandon84 That’s exactly the way I see it. You disagree and that’s fine. But that is exactly the psychology that I believe is at play. He was overlooked for decades. Now he wants people to see him as the smartest guy in the room that people were dumb to ignore for so long.
