DJ Evolve is but one person, who else did Babu harm in his Uni days, via political violence as a politician? What did Babu actually lose - he’s still an MP, he has not lost his fire arm, he has not lost his wealth - so in fact tomorrow he can do the very same thing with impunity.

Me! Me🙋🏽‍♂️ I will cast a stone. You people are being wilfully obtuse. You insist that we bring up the DJ Evolve shooting as an isolated incident yet we keep telling you it is a fundamental character flaw in Babu Owino: his inclination to violence that makes him unfit for office.

While I don't particularly like that the incident happened in the first place, I must say that Babu has shown accountability and maturity that is not commonly witnessed in Kenyan politicians. If DJ Evolve has forgiven him, who amongst us without sin to cast the first stone?

Kenyan film doesn’t have a problem of piracy. We don’t even have strong IP regulations, not even a film guild. What we need is heavy investment for the industry. Kenyan creatives are going to face a proper choice over this coming campaign period. On the one hand other sectors will make money during the period with little consequence. No one hounds the guy who provides politicians with sound, tents, poster design, printing, communication teams, and PR agencies But they realise that the privilege of separation doesn't apply to creatives. Your face and your name will be attached to any political stance you offer service to. The money, however, is likely to be way more than any random gig would give. The recent award show was a way of testing the social media waters for many of them

Which budget line item is this money coming from? This dog and pony show of going around Kenya just promising things and committing taxpayer funds is something that needs to end speedily. Such behavior no doubt is why State House has doubled its budgetary allocation from 8 billion to 17 billion. The same people who were sheepishly telling us about austerity measures after Gen-z protests brought their administration to its knees.
