@trapasamoleta as a girl with an english mum, the possibility of calling my partner mom & not think of my actual mother every time & associating mom with my partner and my partner only, is quite goated.

As much as we use British English spellings and pronunciations in our everyday life we have to admit that "mom" is just superior to "mum". Feels like we're letting the home team down.
