The President is flaunting his gag order like it is some grand achievement. But all it really shows is an inability to deal with the realities of high office where criticism, scrutiny and even allegations come with the territory. If he believed statements or documentaries were false, the democratic path wld hv been to pursue defamation or libel through due process. Using state power to silence discussion only deepens public suspicion. If only he had wiser advisors.

The mere fact that a sitting President is publicly using the term “gag order” in defence of his administration shld alarm every citizen in a democracy. A gov confident in its legitimacy does not celebrate silence.
