@ianhanomansing Words are tools for our thoughts. If we are all purposeful with them, we can move forward the social changes needed for equity. I say this as someone who used “guys”when coaching girls’ VBall. These “athletes” (my new all encompassing term for them) were worth the small effort.

Admonished by a listener - in a private DM - for saying "you guys" on the radio: "You is still singular AND plural, otherwise “you both”. CBC should be.... a language leader." Love the care for words. My question: is a little informality OK in unscripted chats, even on CBC?
