The reason why the J Post can’t independently verify this report is because it isn’t accurate. I understand that different people have different memories of certain meetings (& they mean no harm), but I was IN this meeting several years ago & took very detailed notes (which I have reviewed). This is not an accurate depiction of the meeting. I appreciate a zeal for peace … no one prays for it & works as hard for it, as I do, but this doesn’t help.
I am proud to have many friends in Saudi Arabia and in Israel (including among the leadership). One day, I believe they will be friends with one another too, but PEACE isn’t a magic wand you wave. It takes hard work, building trust & a lot of courage.

MORE details on US strikes vs Iranian targets today:
2 Iranian boats were caught laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, senior US official tells me. The US military eliminated both IRGC vessels and also struck at a SAM (surface to air missile) site in Bandar Abbas that was targeting US warplanes.
“These were defensive strikes.” They do not indicate ceasefire is over, according to two well placed sources.

CENTCOM spox Capt Tim Hawkins to Fox: “U.S. forces conducted self-defense strikes in southern Iran today to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces. Let us be clear: this is not a debate about the Middle East. Hanging effigies of Jews in the streets of Montreal evokes some of the darkest antisemitic imagery in history and is completely unacceptable.
This is not “peaceful activism.” It is the promotion of hatred and the incitement of violence that fuels the radicalization of our social climate.
What will it take for authorities to treat these acts as the serious threat they are?

Today, I spoke with the President Herzog of Israel.
I reiterated that the appalling treatment of civilians aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla was unacceptable, and that respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times.
I underlined the imperative of de-escalation in the Middle East, and the importance of a genuine resumption of dialogue among all parties. Progress toward peace and stability in the region must remain the clear, shared objective.

Spoke this morning with Israeli Foreign Minister @gidonsaar to raise Canada’s serious concern with Israel’s mistreatment of Canadian participants in the flotilla. I raised that denying Canadian citizens access to consular services while they were detained violates the Vienna Convention and must never happen again. Canada is providing Israeli authorities with evidence of this mistreatment. We have asked for and expect an independent investigation and those responsible to be held to account. We also discussed the deplorable rise of antisemitism in Canada and the steps that the Government of Canada is taking to protect Canada’s Jewish community from hate and violence.

If now there is an escalation in Lebanon--with the Trump administration's green light--it is hard to see how this draft MOU is brought in for a landing given #Iran's regime's insistence on a ceasefire in #Lebanon being included in the MOU. And despite the ceasefire it would still be arming and rebuilding Hezbollah during that period.

JUST NOW - FLATBUSH: A suspect was arrested following an assault on a Jewish female aboard an MTA B11 bus near Avenue J and East 15th Street.
