Thanks for an informative and entertaining couple of days British Cartographic Society. In particular, a big thanks to the organising committee who put in a power of work behind the scenes to make events like this happen. Hats off to you all 👏🏻

It has been a blast celebrating the launch of Maps on Vinyl. Huge thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the launch at the Golden Vine Hotel and at Cardwell Cellars. A special thanks to the brilliant Rebecca Glenn who kept me on track!

Dr. @Iza_Karsznia presented our abstract today on "human vs. AI". Can people (even experts) tell if a map is generalized* by AI? Seemingly they can't -- we'll share more soon :) *Cartographic generalization (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartograp…) is highly complex with qualitative decisions.

Cracking day at @bcsmaps #carto24 where I was humbled and chuffed to bits to see my Total Eclipse map win the Collins Bartholomew award for Thematic Mapping. Thank you! Reminder you can get your own copy of this award-winning map (sans gold leaf) via links.esri.com/mappyhour

I'm excited to join @deepseadawn for a fireside chat at the #EsriUC next week! We'll be talking about the story of science. Will there be a fireplace? I don't know! I don't think so? Maybe the fire is metaphorical for the untamable spread of ideas and discoveries.
