It’s a superiority fight! There is a presumed hierarchy of expertise, authority, and legitimacy that seems to benefit one side. People on both sides of this presumption pretend it doesn’t matter. But it blows up every now and then in different forms, then everyone gets defensive.

@nuo_ire @Kanton483 But you see now MDs are throwing shade on lab professionals and vise versa, that doesn’t help the discourse and try to understand each other and have a constructive conversation. How’s it fair a duly appointed head is removed without any issue and an Lp appointed, not fair is it?

@nuo_ire @Kanton483 And bro, this can be solved with an improved organogram and guidelines that explicitly states the various role so as not to conflict with each other, obviously other departments can be created to liaise with the lab and necessarily coming to head it.

@nuo_ire @Kanton483 Cuz I think we can take inspiration form other countries to better our health system so as to make sure these arguments don’t even arise, other places the lab is lead by a lab scientist and they’re roles headed by an Lp and they liase also with specialist from lab based on units

@nuo_ire @Kanton483 Bro.. even the legitimate Lab manager that was appointed by the board recently has been dismissed for an LPs to run the affairs of the lab, how do we expect impartiality and fairness if those that are at the helm of affairs are your colleagues and can be biased.

Took me days of following the conversations to get the case. In all this chaos, I believe what the MDs want is a merit based system for leadership. It’s not about taking over the lab from medical laboratory scientists. Fairs!
