@emilia_entcheva Congrats Julie! Love the Ca2+ vs. Vm phase plots, they provide unique insight into electromechanical coupling.

Overall, CRISPRi effects are mild, but specific. Full 96well plate imager with optogenetic pacing and sensing - paper out soon. We dig more into Zim3-KRAB-dCas9 in a separate brief report (not out yet). Heroic efforts by Julie over several years!

Dr. Julie Han's paper is posted: We explored #CRISPRi in already differentiated human iPSC-CMs using all-optical electrophysiology and targeting ion channels, KCNH2, KCNJ2, GJA1. Zim3-KRAB-dCas9 effector is interesting. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

In working on this creative project I learned a tremendous amount about cell culture, microfluidics, and cellular oxygenation, all thanks to my BME colleagues Emilia, Zhenyu, and our students! @emilia_entcheva @gwengineering

Cardiac mitochondrial ROS production rate cannot be directly predicted from mitochondrial driving forces following ischemia. Happy to share our open access publication in AJP Heart & Circulatory Physiology! @brianglancylab @mwkaylab doi.org/10.1152/ajphea…

Hey cardiac mappers: Check out our "Getting it Right" mini-review on the metabolic effects of EC uncoupling and suggested best practices. Hope you all find it useful. Thanks @NikkiPosnack & @mwkaylab for inviting me to work on this - it was fun!

Greatly enjoyed working with Emilia @emilia_entcheva on this comprehensive review of incredible pioneering work in #cardiac #optogenetics over the past decade. Please take a look: nature.com/articles/s4156…
Emilia Entcheva@emilia_entcheva

It was fun working on this review with Matt @mwkaylab, covering the opportunities #optogenetics has brought to the #heart since 2010, when first used by @huiskenlab, P. Sasse, T. Bruegmann, O. Abilez, D. Pijnappels and several other labs including mine.
