@SpikeEskin @DylanLandonLive Isn’t the answer to simply say if you don’t make the playoffs you don’t qualify for any luxury tax pay outs and if you make the playoffs and are a tax team you get a reimbursement from the amount the non-playoff teams are giving up
English

@DylanLandonLive no, that doesn't work. Then you have teams tanking out of the playoffs. This is the problem with flattening lottery odds. The point of the draft is to make the worst teams better.
English

@KevinOConnor Kev who do you think is there best matchup for the first round
English

HUGE win for the Sixers. #5 seed still in reach. Getting healthy at the right time. As long as they enter the playoffs healthy I don't think you should rule out a Conference Finals run.

Actually, you could expand this range to the last 25 years and it's still just VJ and Luka.
Derek Bodner@DerekBodnerNBA
Players over the last 10 years to average at least 28 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists over a four game stretch as a rookie: - VJ Edgecombe - Luka Doncic. In today's episode of fun with arbitrary cutoffs.

“I’ve had two general managers tell me I wish he played on our team because he would leadoff and play every single day. This is a future star. Dante Nori, do not forget the name.”

Our refrigerator just died... again. This is our second refrigerator in ten years. It was a Whirlpool, a "plain Jane" model with no bells, no whistles, and no fancy screens. We bought it for its simplicity, thinking it would be the one thing in our house that just worked.
It lasted five years and one month, exactly thirty days past the warranty.
The repairman’s verdict? A dead compressor. But the real diagnosis... it was Built to Break.
Under the guise of "green" regulations and "energy efficiency," we’ve traded tanks that lasted thirty years for plastic-heavy shells that barely last five.
We are forced to pay a premium for "high-efficiency" tech that saves ten cents a month on electricity, only to be told to throw the whole $1,500 + unit into a landfill when a single internal component fails.
It’s a racket. The government mandates the specs, the manufacturers cut the quality, and the consumer is left holding a bag of spoiled milk. We don’t own appliances anymore; we just lease them from the scrap yard.

@DerekBodnerNBA One more spot to fill before Walker can play again or he will be the last spot? I’ve lost track of all this
English

Ran through the numbers the other day, but we're now at the point in the schedule where the Sixers can fit two prorated vet min contracts without going over the tax, hence the timing of the Cam Payne news.
Still one more slot to fill.
Derek Bodner@DerekBodnerNBA
The Sixers have $1.576m in space under the tax to sign two players. Right now, a rest-of-season minimum would cost ~$844k, so Sixers can't fit two signings in that space. They need to get this down to $788k per prorated min, which comes in roughly 5 days from now. Would expect buyout signing / Walker conversion to happen then.
