Britain goes to the polls today, there is a general election in Albion today. This is the man who will win this election and become Britain’s new Prime Minister, Keir Starmer. He is not charismatic, he is not a popular political figure and doesn’t speak in sound bites. However, his opponent, the current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, is so unpopular that anyone in Labour could have won against him. Regardless of his lack of charisma or popular touch, Starmer will win today. But maybe that is exactly what the British public needs right now, a steady, competent leader in Number 10 who can clean up the mess left by the current Conservative government. Rishi Sunak, while initially popular for his handling of COVID-19 when Finance Minister, has since faced a lot of criticism for failing to tackle the cost of living crisis. Sunak is an unelected Prime Minister, he became Prime Minister after being picked by his parliamentary colleagues, today is his last day in office. Picture; Keir Starmer

on friday night myself and 2 friends went to zumuku sushi in didsbury for dinner. it was busy and v warm so we decided to sit outdoors. we ordered food and were chatting away, and out of nowhere an egg was thrown at our table. it all happened so quick and just missed my face.

@mxmandla @HannahCCoach I don’t understanding what makes either of you entitled to dictate how someone else makes art, especially art about their lived experiences. It’s very important to step outside of yourselves.

I haven’t watched Baby Reindeer. I saw the play at Roundabout in 2019 and i felt it to be an extremely unsafe experience for the audience and the actor. I have however seen much of the discourse which has followed. I find it utterly horrifying that 🧵

@princesajesa being a survivor and getting triggered to hell with no access to care is a difficult situation to be in. nobody said people shouldn’t make art about their lived experiences…that’s what i do for a living so this comment is awks and combative for no reason

@HannahCCoach when I watched the play at roundabout I was literally weeping. started watching the show out of curiousity to see what happens to a solo theatre piece that becomes a tv series and i will die on the hill that sexual violence does not need to be acted out. so triggering.

@HannahCCoach i do wonder if there’s anyone who saw it and realised how wrong something that might have happened to them was, when i was younger definitely had friends who had men do things to them when they were blackout drunk but didn’t see it as ~that~ or maybe couldn’t bare to.

This summer, the Globe in London is doing Richard III. They are erasing Richard's disability and having a non-disabled actor playing Richard. This is happening despite the Disabled Artists Alliance having told them how damaging these decisions are to the disabled community. 1/2
